PILATES Training

Pilates was created by Joseph H. Pilates over 100 years ago.  There is Pilates mat work as well as work on specialized equipment.  The training is isolative and integrative.  You isolate muscles while integrating a strong core and breathing pattern.  Pilates can balance your muscles, help you recover from injuries, surgeries, illnesses and pregnancies.  The work is very adaptive with over 6 different pieces of equipment.  Exercises range from rehabilitative to very advanced for professional athletes or dancers.  The work creates a long lean physique, with fully functional muscles and joints.  You can get very strong and fit in this modality.

PILATES Mat Work

Pilates mat work is a system of exercises designed to strengthen and tone the entire body.  Exercises range from start to finish a beginning, intermediate, and advanced level.  At the same time each Pilates Mat exercise can be varied to accommodate any level of training.  Pilates mat work can be challenging in that it will teach you to address where you are tight, where you are weak and what you need to focus on in your equipment training to get good at certain mat exercises.  Many people believe that Joseph Pilates created the Pilates equipment to help people do mat work better.

GYROTONIC® Method

The Gyrotonic method is an original movement method that addresses the entire body, opening movement pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength.  Gyrotonic exercise sequences are composed of spiraling movements that flow together seamlessly in rhythmic repetitions with breath.  Each movement flows into the next allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion.   These sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility.

GYROTONIC SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT

The body is naturally designed to work as one system, to follow arcing and spiraling paths of motion and to transition from one movement to the next smoothly and efficiently.

The specialized line of Gyrotonic equipment supports these natural movement patterns.  Adjustments allow Gyrotonic Trainers to adapt the equipment to the ideal setting for each person’s physique, adapting for each person’s natural range of motion and physical ability.  Gyrotonic classes are adapted to fit anyone’s ability from those recovering from injury or living with a disability to elite athletes.

GYROKINESIS® Method and exercises on the mat

ABOUT

The Gyrokinesis Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body,  stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method which coordinates movement, breath and mental focus.

GETTING STARTED

The Gyrokinesis Method is practiced in group or private classes . Gyrokinesis classes are adapted to fit each student’s needs and abilities from those recovering from injury or living with a disability to elite athletes.

GYROTONIC®, GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® and GYROKINESIS® are registered trademarks of Gyrotonic Sales Corp and are used with their permission.

FRC®

Functional Range Conditioning is a system of creating, controlling, and expanding useable range of motion, defined as mobility. Unlike flexibility which is typically achieved passively, FRC uses tension and isometrics to minimize neurological safeguards that inhibit mobility in the first place.

FRC® teaches CARS and PAILS/RAILS

CARS are controlled articular rotations.  To perform them you use active, rotational movements at the outer limits of articular motion.  You train your joints through the biggest range of motion possible with tension and control, at your level.

The joint capsule is the first line of communication between your joint and your brain, and rotation is the best way to interact with your joint capsule.

PAILs and RAILs are training protocols designed to increase range of motion by combining strength and stretching.

The intent is to get the brain to utilize as many motor units as possible to achieve a specific movement. 'ILs' stand for isometric loading (this is the strength part).

YOGA

There are different styles of yoga and so many ways to approach learning each style.  Many people believe meditating alone is Yoga, others believe that Yoga is about being drenched in sweat. Yoga has that range,  it can be a freedom of movement or it can be a rigorous course of study.

There are spiritual components to yoga as well as a code of ethics.  We do it all at Aline Studios.

We teach Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, specific Yoga for your back, Yoga for Health.  You name it we offer it.  There is freedom in Yoga to make your practice whatever you want.  You can change the asanas to suit you can take on a practice and try to accomplish it in its original format.  In any case, Yoga brings multiple benefits to the body in breath, balance, musculature, stress relief and so much more.
