Professional Bio

A self proclaimed ‘Make It Happen Girl’ I have and still continue to bring new innovations in Fitness to the Orange County area. My work in the field of Pilates, Dance/Conditioning, Teacher Education, Gyrotonic, and Gyrokinesis Yoga, as well as blending and fusing other forms of fitness to create Aline Barre Technique and Ballet Fitness is well known by OC Locals for over 15 years. My Aline Barre Class is one of the best kept secrets in town. Clients swear by the results this class gives and secretly are addicted to this challenging but fun regime.

My career began in the 80's as a dance teacher at the age of 16. By the age of 17 I was dancing professionally. I taught aerobics when we wore headbands and legwarmers and quickly moved into management training position. Not able to let the sales driven fitness industry turn me into a hard closer, I came back to my roots discovering Pilates by accident in the late 80’s. Pilates Equipment wasn’t easily available or affordable so I taught Pilates concepts to fitness and physical therapy clients in the early 90’s.

I was one of the first three Studios to open in the OC. My teacher training program began in 1995. I expanded my work to include Gyrotonic in 1999 when it was virtually unheard of. I continued to work in the field bringing new firsts to OC again to the area with the Ladder and the Jumping Stretching Board. Today my tiny studio is the most equipped full service Pilates/Gyrotonic Studio in the area...(I am only missing the Gyrotoner).

I introduced Pilates Mat Work to Orange County Gyms, and started Pilates Programs for TRAC Physical Therapy, Yoga Place (now Yoga Works)Laguna Beach and Costa Mesa, Lakeshore Towers, Athletic Club for Women, and Girls Gym Newport Beach, the Girls Gym Laguna Canyon, Revolution Studio in Los Angeles, expanded the Gyrotonic Program for the Vintage in Indian Wells.

My ground breaking work with Pro Surfers in 1998-99 led me to Quiksilver. I was able to develop a training program for the Pro/Am Men’s Teams and then Quiksilver invited me again to introduce my training to the Women’s Roxy Team in 2005. With my unique style this opened the Women's Pro Team to a completely unique type of conditioning.

My certification program is widely respected as producing some of the most coveted instructors in the area. Training teachers in smaller groups, spending more time on their personal development, and giving them the specific tools they need to set themselves apart in this highly competitive field are the goals of my program. Teachers need the same time if not more than clients do. They need to completely comprehend the work, to have a true respect and admiration for the concepts behind the actual exercises in order to have a successful and personally fulfilling career.

My personal philosophy is that I am completely committed to the work and to honoring my client’s and student’s processes. I believe body conditioning is a personal endeavor so I teach with respect to the individual and my goal is to meet each persons needs. I don’t believe in any one way to do anything. I follow guidelines but am always open to innovation, creativity, change and inspiration. My exercise programs are living designs built from a dialogue between my wants/needs and the clients mind/body process. This enables me to teach with passion and ease because I know what works. I have a high level of understanding of what I teach. If I don’t, I am committed to getting there. I believe in the process of learning and improving my own skills. I keep the studio environment friendly and full of music and laughter. I encourage personal growth and balanced living in myself and others, moving forward through energy or life, developing better ways to do things through sharing of ideas, and constantly challenging what I think I know.
